Tactus SF presents:
Counter Culture
Music of the Marginalized
Elizabeth Kimble, Music Director
Susan Swerdlow, Associate Conductor
with musical guests Eugene Petrushansky and Sue Jones
This November, Tactus SF will present a concert of Renaissance music written by people on the fringes of society. Featuring the music of ethnic and religious minorities (Lusitano, Rossi, Byrd), some of the first women to have their music published (Assandra, Aleotti, Casulana), immigrants and indigenous peoples in the New World (Zumaya, Franco, Lienas, don Franco), and convicted criminals (Phinot, Gombert, Gesualdo), we celebrate the voices of the marginalized and oppressed.
Free-will donation requested. Proof of vaccination and masks required for entry. The concert will last about an hour with no intermission. Outdoor reception to follow.
