Musae in Concert
Women Who Changed History
Musae is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year! Under the direction of Ben Johns, the season will culminate with a unique program entitled “Women Who Changed History.” The program will feature songs by women composers and works written for elite female groups from a variety of eras. The repertoire will range from Renaissance madrigals composed for the first professional women’s vocal ensemble to contemporary pieces such as “More Than a Paycheck” by Ysaye Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock.
